How to read your garment care label
The circle relates to professional textile care. Letters and bars are instructions for the cleaner, not settings for a household washing machine.
Circle PPermits professional processes using solvents allowed for category P.
Circle FPermits professional cleaning with specified hydrocarbon solvents.
Circle WMeans professional wet cleaning: water is used under controlled professional conditions, unlike household washing.
Crossed circleThe garment must not be dry-cleaned. Some solvent-based stain removers may also be prohibited.
One bar belowA mild process is required, limiting mechanical action, moisture or drying temperature.
Two bars belowA very mild process and especially cautious assessment are required.
A care label indicates the maximum permitted treatment, but it does not guarantee that every stain can be removed completely.
Why some garments should not be washed in water
Water, heat and mechanical movement can cause shrinkage, felting, colour migration or loss of shape. Jackets and coats may contain linings, interfacings, reinforcements and adhesives that react differently from the outer fabric. We therefore never choose a process from the fibre name alone: we inspect the label, construction and actual condition of the item.

Can you collect from hotel reception?
